KPMG Singapore’s Office of General Counsel is looking to hire a talented, enthusiastic, motivated and thoughtful lawyer to advise KPMG’s various business functions in commercial and transaction matters. This is an opportunity to join a strong and well- established legal team. The Legal Counsel will review contracts and agreements for purposes of minimising the risks undertaken by the firm and ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements as well as firm policy. 

 

Our Office of General Counsel disseminates timely and relevant information on developments in legislation and regulations and executes initiatives to manage our risk in a challenging environment. 

Role and Responsibilities:

-Draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts with clients, suppliers, strategic partners and vendors.
-Deliver high standard legal guidance from commercial perspective to business teams on important considerations and decisions relating to the business to mitigate risk.
-Work closely with internal business functions to ensure compliance with internal policies, corporate governance and regulatory requirements.
-Provide legal and regulatory advice on contractual, compliance, privacy, intellectual property, and other legal matters.
-Participate in design and implementation of processes, tools, or other initiatives for knowledge management to facilitate easy access, sharing, and dissemination of information within the firm.
-Assist with contract management and provide legal training sessions.

Ideal candidate should possess the following:

-3-5 years of relevant post qualification legal experience.
-Broad commercial legal knowledge of different areas of law (eg. commercial, intellectual property, information technology, data protection).
-Proven analytical and thinking skills.
-Able to identify issues and propose practical solutions.
-Strong interpersonal and able to interact and work across functions and levels.
-Good communication, writing and negotiation skills.
-Team player able to work independently with good people management skills.
-Excellent time management skills.
