Responsibilities

In this Manager - Tax Transformation role you will be involved in the development and implementation of tax improvements and solutions that delivers the expectations and value our clients are looking for.  You will work with our clients to build relationships based on trust and confidence.  Working across design, build and execution teams, the role of the Manager - Tax Transformation is to help deliver an integrated solution to the problems which our clients have. You will work to deliver evaluations, proofs of concept, pilots and solutions, playing a key role in bringing together internal cross-functional teams to satisfy our most demanding clients.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Being the Subject Matter Expert in Tax – Indirect Tax (VAT/GST) preferred
  • Being the liaison for tax technology projects in Asia Pacific
  • Demonstrating KPMG technology solutions to clients in the region
  • Assisting with responses to proposals and RFPs, coordinating responses from member firms
  • Helping with opportunities to redesign the tax function operation model and assisting where required in process improvement workshops
  • Analysing complex problems and share creative and innovative solutions
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance KPMG’s solution suite and actions as appropriate

Experience

You will need to have good working knowledge of the processes associated with meeting tax compliance requirements across all tax services, with a preference for experience with indirect tax (VAT/GST).  Deep tax technical knowledge is not required but having worked in the tax field for a few years would be beneficial. 

Relevant experience will include:

  • At least 5 years of experience working as a Tax Professional (across one or multiple tax service lines in one or more countries)
  • Or at least 5 years of experience working as Business Analyst within a Tax or Finance function
  • Experience working for a Big Four accounting firm is a plus
  • Relevant work experience working with data and technology:
    • Tax compliance solutions
    • Business analytics tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik)
    • Data management and workflow tools (Alteryx)
    • Strong knowledge of MS Excel
