Job Description

KPMG Major Projects Advisory is one of the leading advisory services that is led by technical people from the Engineering Industry. KPMG’s Major Projects Advisory Team focuses on helping clients mitigate issues and negotiate through the maze that is the construction industry.

The MPA team work globally with other offices to support our global clients with international expertise and advice. We help support their fundamental business issues to help them achieve their aspirations - managing schedule, increasing revenues and optimising their investment into their assets, monitoring and managing OPEX and CAPEX spends and provide the assessment and performance improvement development of all aspects of Asset Management, including business performance improvement strategies for both new investment and operating facilities.

We help companies set up asset management strategic frameworks, training for the client teams, and provide consultancy services to global best practices across the transport, utilities and real estate sector. We also help provide a digital analysis solution to clients who are looking to move on to the next big thing in understanding what insights their data is able to provide them, as well as global benchmarks based on the global engagements we have delivered to help clients achieve their goals.

 

As an intern, you will get the opportunity to learn and contribute in the following areas with guidance from your supervisors and team members:

  • providing strategic and commercial advice spanning the full lifecycle of infrastructure projects using the Engineering judgement and learnings, to Corporate and Public sectors.
  • working in a dynamic and fun team environment on infrastructure projects across various sectors.
  • assisting with proposal preparations.
  • using the skills and learnings from the Engineering degree to apply into the Built-Tech solutions that we are developing for clients.
  • liaising with other business units of KPMG both locally and globally.

⠀Available Internship Projects

(1) Energy Efficiency Database and Investment Matching Platform Development

The objective of this opportunity is to create an online web-based regional platform to host standardized tools and accelerators for assessing energy efficiency, carbon emission reduction, and financing matchmaking to accelerate energy-efficient and low-carbon building adoption in the ASEAN Region.

The platform will serve a variety of stakeholders, including building owners/developers, investors such as financial institutions, ESCOs, and technology companies. It will provide a centralized energy efficiency database to manage user profiles and enable seamless interaction.

 

(2) Procurement Fraud Risk Analytics & Application in Oil/Gas Industry

KPMG aims to develop and customize a comprehensive, user-friendly system to detect potential fraud actions in the procurement process. This system is designed to enhance organizational integrity and prevent substantial financial and reputational damage. We are seeking a talented and motivated intern to assist in this important project.

Collaborate with the development team to design and implement fraud detection rules & algorithms.
Assist in the customization of the system to meet client-specific requirements.
Participate in testing and validating the system to ensure accuracy and reliability.
Support the documentation and reporting of project progress and outcomes.
 

(3) EPC Project Performance Management dashboard development

KPMG is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our team in developing and customizing a comprehensive, user-friendly dashboard that effectively monitors and manages various construction projects simultaneously. The Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Performance Management dashboard is a critical tool designed to monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to construction projects.

As an intern, you will assist in enhancing the dashboard to provide a comprehensive snapshot of each project's critical details, including project summary, project status, and project issues. You will work alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative environment, gaining hands-on experience in project management and data analysis.

Assist in the development and customization of the EPC Performance Management visualization prototype and dashboard
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for construction projects
Support detailed analysis in various project management aspects, such as risk management, budget management, and milestone tracking
Collaborate with team members to improve dashboard functionalities and user experience
