Job Description

This role is within our Business Operations department, which provides comprehensive risk management support to the firm's Quality & Risk Management Department for client onboarding. You will support the Firm in the customer due diligence process to evaluate the KYC screening results and identify any potential risks before accepting or continuing business relationships, ensuring they fall within regulatory and compliance expectations. The Internship position involves operating as part of a KYC operations team. 

 

As an intern, you will get the opportunity but not limited to:

  • Conduct desktop research on entities and individuals using databases such as Factiva, Thomson One, Nexis, and online sources like corporate registries, open corporates, among others.
  • Screen companies, directors, shareholders, and beneficial owners against adverse news, sanction lists, litigation/bankruptcies, as well as Politically Exposed Personnel using KPMG internal and external public sources.
  • Report the screening results in the KYC report template.
  • Perform KYC screening on the KYC self-service system.
  • Prepare KYC report templates.
  • Support in ongoing screening tasks.
  • Perform other ad-hoc tasks assigned. 

 

The ideal candidate should possess the following attributes:

  • Meticulous, with an eye for detail.
  • Keen to learn.
  • Strong interpersonal and team working skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programmes.
