Job Description

Role Overview:

We are looking for a Transformation Consultant to join our Financial Services Consulting practice in Singapore. The role focuses on transforming banks’ front to middle office operations – from customer strategy and sales/service processes to target operating model (TOM) design – to drive efficiency, innovation, and improved client outcomes. You will work with leading banks (across retail, commercial, private banking, etc.) to analyze their current organization and processes, then design future-state solutions encompassing operating model changes, process re-engineering, and digital enablement. As a Senior Associate, you will deliver core analyses and support project delivery; as a Manager, you will lead engagements, manage stakeholders, and ensure projects meet their strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Front-Office Consulting Projects: Collaborate with client teams to identify pain points and improvement opportunities in front-office functions (e.g. customer lifecycle management, sales processes, product management, relationship management, digital channels). Develop recommendations to bridge gaps between the current state and desired future state – whether by redesigning business processes, implementing new digital tools, or developing new operating models for front-line teams
  • Target Operating Model Design: Lead efforts to design and implement target operating models (TOM) for front-office transformation. Define clear roles, processes, governance, and technology requirements to support new front-office strategies at scale (e.g. redesign of sales and service structures, integration of digital channels, product lifecycle management). Ensure that the new TOM aligns with clients’ strategic objectives and incorporates best practices in customer experience and operational efficiency

  • Project Leadership & Delivery: For Manager-level hires, oversee end-to-end project management – including planning engagement scope, managing project teams (often multi-disciplinary), tracking project milestones, and ensuring quality delivery of outcomes

  • Change Management & Implementation: Support clients in executing transformation initiatives, including change management, stakeholder alignment, and implementation planning. Develop actionable roadmaps and implementation plans (e.g. phased roll-out of new processes, staff training plans, customer communication strategies) to ensure sustainable adoption of new front-office models

  • Client Engagement & Thought Leadership: Work closely with KPMG partners and directors on client management and business development activities. Build credible relationships with client stakeholders (from front-line managers to C-suite) by demonstrating understanding of their business, and by delivering tangible value. Contribute to internal knowledge development – for example, by creating thought leadership on trends (agentic sales transformation, service evolution, lending transformation etc.) and helping to refine KPMG’s front line sales, service and product transformation offerings

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Relevant Experience: 5 - 8+ years of professional experience in banking or consulting, with a focus on operations, business transformation, or process improvement. Experience with target operating model projects, sales & service effectiveness, or front-line technology implementation (e.g. CRM systems, digital banking platforms) is highly valued

  • Consulting & Analytical Skills: Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical capabilities – able to assess complex operational issues, carry out data-driven analysis (process mapping, efficiency analysis, etc.), and derive actionable solutions. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills are essential, as is the ability to craft clear recommendations and business cases for change. Prior consulting experience or project management exposure is a plus

  • Industry & Domain Knowledge: Solid understanding of banking functions and trends – such as sales and relationship management, customer service processes, digital channels and customer experience innovations, and operational best practices in wholesale, commercial or private banking. Familiarity with methodologies like Lean Six Sigma or process re-engineering is advantageous for addressing efficiency improvements and process redesign

  • Communication & Collaboration: Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, to effectively engage with client stakeholders and produce high-quality reports and presentations. Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work seamlessly in a team environment and manage stakeholders at multiple levels. For Manager roles, robust stakeholder and change management skills are required to facilitate buy-in and navigate organizational complexities during transformation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree. An MBA or other advanced degree is considered a strong asset, especially with specialization in operations management, strategy, or financial services

  • Certifications: Credentials in Project Management (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2) or Process Improvement (e.g. Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt) are beneficial

  • Leadership & Management: For Manager-level candidates, demonstrated experience in leading project teams or significant workstreams in a consulting or corporate environment
