The Role

 

We are currently looking to recruit an Associate Director who can make a significant contribution to the R&RA business through driving business development and mobilisation, establishing client delivery quality and engagement management as well as mentoring and training junior resources through deep sector expertise. You will help lead and grow the practice through i) leading business development through proactive go to market activities, ii) development of value propositions and strategic assets to deploy in market and accelerate engagements, iii) play a strategic role in client relationships and engagement management iv) support development and build out of the R&RA team through recruitment in the market.  We are looking for and experienced individual who is highly motivated, passionate about what they do and can add further to the continued success of our market leading regulatory reporting advisory team.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead workstreams across risk transformation, regulatory reporting, and controls optimization, including advisory, implementation support, post-implementation reviews, and platform/process optimization.
  • Conduct business impact assessments, target operating model reviews, and provide strategic recommendations for enhancements and regulatory compliance.
  • Perform risk and control reviews for key functional and business areas within investment banking, capital markets and retail banking clients, with a view to providing advise on how to optimise and automate control environment
  • Formulate and deliver client propositions and solutions tailored to evolving regulatory and risk requirements.
  • Mentor, coach, and manage junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, leveraging industry knowledge and delivery capability.
  • Support business development activities, including developing value propositions and converting pipeline opportunities.
  • Stay abreast of industry, market, and regulatory trends, and articulate their impact on client opportunities
  • Drive early-stage business development and market entry across key market propositions and target clients, including client mobilisation
  • Develop and provide market insights, points and view as part of client discussions, proposition and business development e.g. key market challenges, upcoming regulatory changes etc
  • Support senior leadership / Partners in go to market strategy, origination, key target clients and client mobilisation
  • Manage, mentor and train teams of up to 5+ people from diverse backgrounds
  • Develop and convert a pipeline of opportunities either through sell-on and/or new work

 

The Person

 

  • Consulting background with 10+ years’ experience in a Capital Markets, Risk & Regulatory team as part of professional services firm (Big 4 ideal)
  • Experience in a major financial institution’s internal consulting or change function is also desirable
  • Experience in managing delivery of risk, regulatory and other change programmes across sell side, buy side and financial market infrastructure firms e.g. T+1 implementation, Brexit, Risk and Regulatory Change e.g. MIFID II, SFTR, EMIR, MAS, HKMA, ASIC, CFTC, CSA
  • Demonstrable sector knowledge across both pre and post trade, with deep understanding of current trends in capital markets and some degree of specialisation in at least one or more asset class / financial services regulation / function
  • Evidence of successful delivery track record across Investment and/or Wholesale banking clients. Key areas of interest include experience in initiation through to implementation of regulatory change projects covering business impact assessment, requirements analysis and delivery, post implementation reviews of key regulations (e.g. MIFID II, SFTR, EMIR, MAS, HKMA, ASIC)
  • In-depth understanding of the key industry, market and regulatory drivers shaping the industry and an ability to articulate these by way of client opportunities. 
  • Deep experience in Project/Program Management and demonstrable client account management capabilities
  • Evidence of successful business and proposition development within risk & regulatory transformation topics including internal business case development, strategy development, team building, external RFPs, RFIs, PoVs and engagement delivery at multiple clients
  • Strong technical skills e.g. MSP, MS Access, MS Excel, SQL, SharePoint, Visio, MS PowerPoint and MS Word
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to build and maintain client relationships
