Job Description

KPMG in Singapore’s Corporate Transformation Business is a market leading practice that consults on solutions in managing and enhancing Corporate Transformational activities. We provide comprehensive advisory solutions in areas like Organisational Transformation, Data & Cloud to Finance Advisory, Business Innovation & Design, and Accounting Advisory. Working with top tier clients in both the private and public sector, we are trusted advisors in the field. 

 

Specifically for Accounting Advisory, the successful candidate will serve as a solution provider to finance communities, delivering valuable advisory services tailored to client needs. You will lead and manage client engagements, identifying and capitalizing on opportunities for enhanced advisory services while overseeing live projects. Collaborate and contribute to cross-disciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive service delivery across the Firm on finance & accounting, regulatory, and related activities of CFO/Finance function:

 

  • Lead client engagements, offering expert solutions based on a thorough understanding of accounting standards to address reporting challenges and regulatory impacts
  • Manage finance and accounting advisory engagements, including finance change initiatives and process reviews, providing finance-related support to clients in the region
  • Lead transaction-oriented accounting and reporting for mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, complex capital raising, financing structures, financial instruments, and revenue recognition
  • Collaborate with functional experts within the KPMG network to provide innovative solutions to clients, including digital and technology enablement in finance
  • Stay updated on technical and industry developments and facilitate training sessions for internal teams and clients to enhance their understanding and capabilities
  • Support the execution of complex projects with strong project management skills, maintain effective communication with clients and external advisors and deliver high-quality client deliverables and presentations
  • Utilize strong technical expertise to assist clients in implementing new financial reporting systems, processes, and policies, ensuring robust governance and controls. 
  • Lead and conduct thorough data analysis to assess data quality and support informed decision-making, leveraging financial and visualization tools to enhance client outcomes

 

 

 

 

We are looking for dynamic individual(s) with:

 

  • A minimum of six to seven years of experience with a public accounting firm, advisory services firm, or a large multinational organization in leading finance change or corporate accounting, or system reporting
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in an appropriate field; a licensed CPA or CPA equivalent is preferred
  • Exceptional analytical and communication skills, with a proven track record in stakeholder management and the ability to effectively engage with senior management and external clients
  • A strong knowledge and practical application of accounting frameworks or topics, i.e. U.S. GAAP, IFRS, business combinations, share options, or financial restatements
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate with diverse teams, fostering an inclusive environment
  • The willingness to take on a role with 20%-40% travel
  • A keen interest in and experience with finance and accounting technologies, with the ability to leverage them for process improvement
  • Applicants with experience in insurance will be a plus
