Job Description

KPMG’s Infrastructure Advisory team (Energy and Utilities; and, Transport and Mobility) is recognized as one of the leading financial advisors for infrastructure projects and one of the world’s leading financial and market advisors in renewable projects. The team provides financial advisory services across the lifecycle of infrastructure assets for public and private clients in all the major infrastructure sectors including, energy, utilities, transport, mobility and social infrastructure. Geographical focus is Southeast Asia, Middle East, and Asia Pacific region.

 

The ideal candidate should have a keen interest in infrastructure asset class (energy, utilities, transport, mobility and social infrastructure), including project financing, policy making, energy economics, regulation and a desire to learn new skills.

As an intern, you will get the opportunity to learn and contribute in the following areas with guidance form your supervisors and team members:

  • providing advisory services in energy transition projections spanning the lifecycle of renewable projects to government and private sector entities, Service offerings of the team include the likes of:
  • analysing energy markets to assess supply-demand dynamics and pricing trends.
  • ability to evaluate the impact of energy policies on market behavior and economic outcomes.
  • developing energy models to predict future energy prices, demand patterns, energy transition pathways and the economic implications of various energy sources. The candidate should have proficient skills in Python, R and/or specifically in energy market modelling.
  • providing strategic advice to businesses and government entities regarding investments in energy projects


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Pursuing a degree in systems engineering, operations research, economics and/or energy policy is often preferred.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong quantitative skills for data analysis and economic modeling.
  • Knowledge of Energy Markets: Familiarity with the regulatory environment of energy markets and understanding of global energy issues.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to present complex economic concepts clearly to diverse audiences
