Job Description

Our Quality & Risk Management Department disseminates timely and relevant information on developments in legislation and regulations, executes initiatives to manage our risk in a challenging environment. The Internship position involves operating as part of a risk management and compliance team.

 

The AML Monitoring & Compliance function is part of Quality and Risk Management supporting the Firm in customer due diligence process to evaluate the KYC screening results, identify any potential risks prior to accepting or continuing business relationships, ensuring they falls within the regulatory and compliance expectations.

 

As an intern, you will get the opportunity, but not limited to:

  • Conduct desktop research on entities and individuals using databases such as Factiva, Thomson One, Nexis and online sources like corporate registries, open corporate amongst others.
  • Screening of companies, directors, shareholders and beneficial owners against adverse news, sanction lists, litigation/ bankruptcies, as well as Politically Exposed Personnel using KPMG internal and external public sources.
  • Reporting the screening results in the KYC report template.
  • KYC screening on KYC self-service system.
  • Preparation of KYC report templates.
  • Supporting in Ongoing Screening task
  • Perform other ad-hoc tasks assigned

 

The ideal candidate should possess the following attributes:

  • Meticulous, have an eye for detail
  • Keen to learn
  • Strong interpersonal and team working skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programmes
  • Language requirements – spoken and written English
