Job Description

 

As a Senior Executive of Ethics & Independence Compliance, you will be part of KPMG Singapore’s Quality & Risk Management (QRM) team servicing internal clients/business units. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that KPMG adheres to regulatory and internal policies related to auditor independence. This entry-level position involves a combination of research, analysis, and collaboration with senior team members to maintain high standards of compliance. The role may be challenging and fast paced so you will need to be an efficient worker who is organized, meticulous, self-motivated and resourceful.

 

The Ethics and Independence Team disseminates timely and relevant information on auditor independence regulations and policies, and executes compliance and monitoring initiatives to manage our risk in a challenging environment. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand the necessity to comply with KPMG Global risk management requirement and auditor independence requirements, 
  • Support the Ethics & Independence senior team members to administer the processes required to maintain compliance.
  • Perform independence compliance activities on a timely and accurate manner 
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of independence-related activities, including updating templates and guidance documents 
  • Collaborate with team members as well as BUs to gather information for compliance-related queries and activities
  • Participate in training sessions to stay informed about changes in independence regulations and firm policies.
  • Support enhancement and streamlining of risk procedures and processes through technology and automation
  • Data entry where required

 

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Minimum A level or equivalents with at least 4 years working experience in related field and role;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills;
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance;
  • Ability to work autonomously on self-motivated projects but at the same collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to handle personal and confidential information appropriately.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
