Job Description

KPMG’s Deal Advisory practice combines top people and game-changing technology to give our clients confidence across the transaction life cycle. The Transaction Services team within KPMG’s Deal Advisory practice provides clients with Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) and growth strategy support by focusing on market entry assessment, strategic planning, business plan development, financial model reviews, commercial due diligence and M&A target identification.

 

The Transaction Services team focuses on acquisitions, disposals, public bids/mergers, joint ventures, buy-outs, market entries, financing and other transactions. We identify, structure and execute all manner of public and private market transactions, and provide our clients with support from initial analysis of strategic options and deal evaluation through to completion. The team also help clients identify upside opportunities and risks in their transaction processes to satisfy the due diligence requirements of underwriting investment banks.

 

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven individuals with experience in Accounting Advisory with strong focus on US IPO Advisory in the space of Deals Strategy to join the team. In this role, you will leverage your deep accounting expertise and deal strategy knowledge to advise clients on complex accounting, financial reporting, and transactional matters related to mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other deal-related activities.

 

The role involves: 

  • Offer transaction-oriented accounting and reporting advice focused on mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, complex capital raising and financing structures, US IPO and other strategic deals.
  • Assist clients with deal structuring and assessing the financial implications, including financial due diligence and assessing accounting policies. 
  • Work with valuation advisors to assess the impact and reporting of valuation events such as acquisitions, management buyouts or IPO.
  • Manage large scale accounting advisory engagements and provide accounting support to clients, including identification of accounting-related risks and opportunities. 
  • Provide implementation assistance with new accounting requirements and financial restatements
  • Deliver conversion services to companies that need a change in their financial reporting to  U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) during deals and US IPO processes, providing actionable recommendations.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships by delivering high-quality advisory services and acting as a trusted partner throughout the deal and US IPO lifecycle.
  • Work closely with other internal teams (tax, legal, finance) to ensure a seamless delivery of integrated deal and IPO solutions.
  • Coaching and training junior team members to build up our teams’ capabilities

The role requires:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification is required. 
  • Minimum of 6 to 7 years of experience with a public accounting firm, advisory services firm, with a focus on transactional/deal-related work. 
  • Strong current knowledge in one of the following: U.S. GAAP, US IPO, SEC financial reporting issues or financial due diligence
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a keen ability to interpret complex financial data and provide meaningful insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to senior-level stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple engagements simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with the M&A landscape and understanding of deal structures, financing, and business strategy and US IPO process.
